Wild Flowers

When you and I scatter
like wild flowers
dewy in midnight quietude,
all that the colors paint
tracing a lazy trail in loving you,

the skies crack open
curtains of velvet blue
clouds tilt aside
I pick out the brightest star
and hold it out to you,

magic ceases and erupts
with each gentle stir
a fragrance prevails
and I wonder if I can exhale
the music my soul radiates
an ecstasy
a beautiful rhyme
the thought that I am for you.
